Registration and Registration Changes

Registration

Matriculated traditional undergraduate students register for classes through KC Self-Service in the KC Portal. Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor before registering to ensure course selections align with their degree requirements.

New on-campus students are registered by the Office of Records and Registration. Students with scheduling questions should contact their advisor or the Office of Records and Registration.

Matriculated students enrolled in online undergraduate programs are typically registered by the Office of Records and Registration or the Assistant Director of Online and Graduate Enrollment. Students may view their schedules in KC Self-Service and should work with their advisor to make registration changes.

Students may not register for courses with overlapping meeting times. Requests to enroll in courses with conflicting schedules must be submitted through the Exception to Policy process and will be considered only with the appropriate approvals.

Students who wish to complete coursework at another institution to fulfill Keuka College degree requirements must obtain prior approval from the Office of Records and Registration by submitting a Non-Keuka College Coursework Approval form. Information regarding approved consortium partnerships and registration procedures is available in the Keuka Record.

Add/Drop and Withdrawal

Specific add/drop and withdrawal deadlines are published annually in the Academic Calendar.

Add/Drop Period

The add/drop period begins on the first day of classes and ends on:

  • The sixth day of classes for 15-week courses; and
  • The third day of classes for 7-week courses.

Traditional students may add or drop courses through KC Self-Service during the add/drop period. Courses requiring special approval, such as individualized instruction, require submission of a Change of Registration form with the appropriate approvals.

Students should be aware that changes in enrollment may affect eligibility for institutional, state, and federal financial aid. Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid prior to adding or dropping a course.

Withdrawal Period

After the add/drop period has ended, students may withdraw from a course until the withdrawal deadline published in the Academic Calendar. To withdraw, students must submit a Change of Registration form with the appropriate approvals to the Office of Records and Registration.

A grade of W will be recorded on the student's transcript for courses officially withdrawn during the withdrawal period.

Withdrawal After the Deadline

Withdrawals after the published withdrawal deadline are granted only through an approved Exception to Academic Policy and only for documented extenuating circumstances, such as serious medical conditions or other significant non-academic situations. Students must submit an Exception to Academic Policy form and obtain all required approvals.

Failure to Withdrawal

Students who stop attending a course without completing the official withdrawal process remain enrolled and are responsible for all associated tuition and fees. A final grade will be assigned in accordance with the instructor's grading policies.

Non-attendance or non-participation does not constitute an official drop or withdrawal.. Students should consult the Refund Policy for information regarding tuition liability and refunds associated with course drops and withdrawals.
