Course-Sharing and Cross-Registration Policy

Policy

Keuka College is a member of the Rochester Area Colleges (RAC) Consortium and the Acadeum course-sharing network.

 

Undergraduate students seeking to enroll in courses through either arrangement must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • This course is required for the student's degree program and is not offered during the term in which the student needs to complete it.
  • The student may not have any active account holds on their student account.
  • Approval from the Office of Records and Registration, the student’s advisor and the appropriate Division Chair(s) is required.
  • Enrollment is subject to course availability and is not guaranteed.

Process

Students must submit an Approval for Non-Keuka College Coursework Form with all required signatures to the Office of Records and Registration. Upon approval of the academic advisor and the Division Chair, the Office of Records and Registration will coordinate registration and grade reporting on the student's behalf. Students may view the non-Keuka coursework registrations through KC Self-Service.

 

Credit earned through the Acadeum will be recorded as institutional credit, and the grade earned in the course will be included in the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Credits earned through the RAC will be recorded as transfer credit and the grade earned in the course will not be included in the student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Students enrolled in RAC or Acadeum courses are subject to the academic policies, procedures, deadlines, and requirements of the teaching institution.

 

Keuka College will not intervene in grade appeals or disputes regarding grades assigned by the teaching institution. Students who wish to challenge a grade must follow the policies and procedures of the teaching institution.

 

Students are strongly encouraged to consult with their academic advisor before enrolling in a non-Keuka College course to ensure the course is appropriate for their degree program and academic plan.

Acadeum

Acadeum is a course-sharing network that allows colleges to provide students access to online courses offered by other participating institutions. Courses offered through Acadeum may only be taken in January/Summer terms. To register, students must submit a Non-Keuka College Coursework Approval form with the appropriate signatures and submit the completed form to the Office of Records and Registration. Students will be billed through Keuka College at the online per credit hour tuition rate. Students should contact the Financial Aid Office about possible funding options.

Rochester Area Colleges Consortium

Keuka College is a member of the Rochester Area Colleges (RAC) Consortium. This cooperative program provides an opportunity for a full-time, undergraduate student to register in a member institution for one or two courses at a RAC institution when those courses are not offered at Keuka College. RAC course enrollment is not available for January/Summer terms or graduate-level courses.

To be eligible to enroll in courses through the Rochester Area Colleges (RAC) Consortium, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled at Keuka College as full time undergraduate student (minimum of 12 credit hours)
  • The requested course must not be offered at Keuka College during the same semester.
  • The course must be taken during the fall or spring semester.
  • Have no active account holds on their student account.
  • Obtain approval from both Keuka College and the host institution. Enrollment is subject to course availability at the host institution.
  • RAC enrollment is not available for January/Summer terms or graduate-level courses.

Students must earn a grade of C or higher for a RAC Consortium course to be accepted for transfer credit at Keuka College. Transfer credits earned through a RAC institution will be recorded as transfer credit and will not be calculated in the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA). Students enrolled through the RAC Consortium are subject to the academic policies, procedures, deadlines, and requirements of the host institution.


Students are responsible for ensuring that an official transcript is sent to Keuka College upon completion of the course.
