Article VII - Faculty Governance Leadership Committee
SECTION 1 - Purpose
The Faculty Governance Leadership Committee serves to facilitate effective communication and consultation among standing committees of the faculty and the executive leadership administration of the College.
SECTION 2 - Composition
The Faculty Governance Leadership Committee shall consist of the provost, presiding officer, as well as current chairs of the Faculty Liaison Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Faculty Development Committee, Instruction Committee, Curriculum Committee, and the General Education Committee. The Faculty Governance Leadership Committee shall be co-chaired by the provost and the chair of the Faculty Liaison Committee.
SECTION 3 - Responsibilities
- Meet within a two-week period prior to scheduled meetings of the faculty.
- To discuss issues germane to faculty governance as a whole, communicate concerns in regard to current practices, or adherence to faculty governance policies.
- To discuss and comment on matters of the College's strategic plan or administrative initiatives.
- To discuss issues of shared interest between faculty standing committees to align work and responsibilities of involved committees.
- To make recommendation to appropriate standing committees for action or discussion.
