EDU-321 Adolescent Integrative Methods of Teaching in the Classroom
This course is an investigation into how to teach content in the inclusive adolescent classroom, with an emphasis on using the current NYS content standards and Benchmarks for Social and Emotional Learning as the framework for instructional planning and assessment. This field-based course examines teaching theory and methods appropriate for the adolescent curriculum in Science, Mathematics, English Language Arts and Social Studies. Candidates will become familiar with the New York State Learning Standards and will develop the necessary planning skills and teaching strategies to be effective teachers in the 7-12 classroom. There is a 15-hour content-specific field experience component in this course.
