EDU-310 Literacy in Inclusive Schools
This course provides an introduction to the methods and materials for instruction in reading, writing, and the language arts in the inclusive elementary classroom. The emphasis will be on the New York State Standards for Language Arts with integration of those materials into thematic units and literature-based unit planning. The integration of skills instruction into an authentic balanced language program is fundamental to this course. Course readings and activities will guide students as they develop an understanding and repertoire of instructional techniques for working with children of diverse learning styles and developmental levels.
