KC-201R Wellness: Thinking and Talking † *
In this course, students explore the eight dimensions of wellness and develop a wellness mindset through the lens of the course topic. Through participation in experiential and problem-solving activities, students will acquire knowledge and skills that support the practice of wellness in daily life. Students will be guided, through self-assessment and reflection, to identify areas in their life where the practice of wellness will be most beneficial. Finally, students will develop an individualized wellness plan to positively impact self and others. Students may take up to three different Wellness topics for credit. This Wellness course guides students in developing critical thinking and conversation skills. Curiosity, creativity, and courageous expression are the hallmarks of active minds, and healthy, cooperative thinking is fostered by affective engagement with others. Constructive conversation is a vital component of learning and wellness, and by facilitating meaningful dialogue, this course supports and promotes the continued wellbeing of students.
