KC-201I Financial Wellness * †
In this course, students explore the eight dimensions of wellness and develop a wellness mindset through the lens of the course topic. Through participation in experiential and problem-solving activities, students will acquire knowledge and skills that support the practice of wellness in daily life. Students will be guided, through self-assessment and reflection, to identify areas in their life where the practice of wellness will be most beneficial. Finally, students will develop an individualized wellness plan to positively impact self and others. Students may take up to three different Wellness topics for credit. This course helps college students understand and manage their personal finances during college and after graduation. Students will learn basic budgeting, tax, and credit management concepts while acquiring the skills to manage their resources and untangle the seemingly complex world of personal finances. Studies have shown taking care of one’s financial wellness leads to enhanced emotional and mental well-being, self-confidence, life satisfaction, motivation, and positive stress management. This course focuses students on making sound financial decisions that can positively impact their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
