EDU-374 Professional Leadership in Early Childhood

This course covers knowledge of how to administer and direct a child care program. Students will study legal requirements, guidelines established by professional organizations, ways to obtain additional professional training, how to network with other professional organizations, referral agencies and funding sources, how to maintain quality early childhood care and education programs and how to follow a professional code of ethics. Students conduct in-depth research of a challenge in the early childhood field. Developing strong, reflective ECE leaders and advocates for young children and their families pervades this course. There is a ten-hour field experience component associated with this course.
