EDU-306 Assessment in Inclusive Schools
The basic concepts of assessment will be explored, including basic descriptive statistics, simple comparison methods, as well as item analysis. Candidates will create a range of classroom assessment devices, both formative and summative, based on model Common Core Learning Standards units. Candidates will use assessment data, formative and summative, as well as the data from state mandated devices, to guide instruction and planning. Response to intervention is discussed. Attention will be given to the use of assessment results, from norm-referenced and standardized tests, for placement decisions and the planning, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives for students with disabilities.
