Academic Program Specific Application Requirements
B.S., Nursing
First-Time Nursing Applicants
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 80%
- Minimum of 80% average final score for all math and science courses
Transfer Nursing Applicants
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum of 3.0 average in all college-level math and science coursework
- All science courses must have been completed within five years of application
The Division Chair of Nursing will review the student’s application after transcripts have been submitted to determine placement within the program.
RN to B.S., Nursing (Post-Licensure) Applicants
- Minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum grade of "C" in math and science college coursework
- Proof of conferred associate degree or diploma leading to Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proof of a current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
RN to BS applicants may only begin in the RN to BSN curriculum if they have completed 41 liberal arts/sciences credits. Applicants requiring additional liberal arts/sciences credits may take these at Keuka College prior to beginning the RN to BSN curriculum.
B.S., Health Sciences
First-Time Health Sciences Applicants
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 80%
- Minimum of 80% average final score for all math and science courses
Transfer Health Sciences Applicants
- Minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum of 3.0 average in all college-level math and science coursework

B.S., Occupational Science
First-Time Occupational Science Applicants
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 80%
- Minimum of 80% average final score for all math and science courses
Transfer Occupational Science Applicants
- Minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum of 3.0 average in all college-level math and science coursework
The Division Chair of Applied Health and Wellness (AHW) will review the student’s application after transcripts have been submitted to determine placement within the program.
M.S., Literacy
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or GPA waiver from the Program Director

Proof of a bachelor’s degree from a registered undergraduate teacher education program
- Personal/professional goals statement or waiver from the Program Director
- Two letters of recommendation or waiver from the Program Director
Note: Program Director waivers are normally granted only to those who graduated from a Keuka College teacher education program within the last two years.
M.S., Management
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or GPA waiver from the Program Director
- Proof of a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited institution
- One letter of recommendation or waiver from the Program Director
Note: Program Director waivers are normally granted only to those who graduated from a Keuka College business program within the last two years.
M.S., Nursing (Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Proof of a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Proof of an unencumbered NYS Registered Nurse license
- Two written or verbal clinical recommendations
- Current resume
- 300-500 word essay
- Interview with a member of the graduate nursing faculty
M.S.W., Social Work
A minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Proof of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Two letters of recommendation or waiver from the Program Director
- Current resume or waiver from the Program Director
- A 300-500 word essay or waiver from the Program Director
Note: Program Director waivers are normally granted only to those who graduated from a Keuka College Social Work program within the last two years.
Advanced Standing Option
Applicants who have earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited institution may be eligible for Advanced Standing in the M.S.W. program.
For consideration for Advanced Standing, applicants must have:
- Grades of "B" or better are required in all undergraduate Social Work courses
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Applicants for Advanced Standing must submit all of the M.S.W., Social Work requirements plus their final BSW Field Practicum Evaluation (or mid-term evaluation if practicum is currently in progress at the time of application).
Candidates with one “C” in a Social Work course may be considered at the discretion of the admissions committee.
Post-Master’s Certificate, Nursing (Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Proof of a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Proof of an unencumbered NYS Registered Nurse license
- Two written or verbal clinical recommendations
- Current resume
- 300-500 word essay
- Interview with a member of the graduate nursing faculty
Transfer-Only Programs
The following programs are available only to those applicants who meet the definition of transfer students. Each of these programs has an equivalent on-campus delivery that is available to both first-time and transfer students.
- Online B.S., Management
- Online B.S., Social Work
- B.S., Nursing for RNs
Please Note: Students who have previously been convicted of a felony are advised that their prior criminal history may impede their ability to complete the requirements of certain academic programs and/or to meet licensure requirements for certain professions. Students with such situation(s) should consult the state’s certification board and the program coordinator before submitting an application for admission.
