Registration
Matriculated on-campus students register online for classes using the
KC Portal. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor ahead of time to ensure that their selections fit their degree program.
Matriculated AOE students are registered for classes by the registrar's office.
The Academic Calendar provides specific dates for the following:
1. Add/Drop Period: on-campus students may add or drop a class online with no approval. AOE students may add or drop the first day of each class. If a class requires consent, a completed Add/Drop form is required with the appropriate approvals and brought to the registrar's office. Students should be aware when dropping classes, that all institutional, state and federal grants are based on full-time status.
2. Withdraw Period: on-campus and AOE students who wish to withdraw from a course during the withdraw period must complete an Add/Drop form with the appropriate approvals. The form must be submitted to the registrar's office. A grade of W will be applied to the class.
3. Withdrawals from a course subsequent to mid-semester shall be permitted by formal exception and only for extenuating circumstances, e.g., medical or other problems of a non-academic nature requiring an absence from class and/ or the campus. Such withdrawals require written permission signed by both the advisor and the appropriate instructor(s) and must be submitted as an exception to the policy to the Provost or designee by the student or the advisor.
4. Students who do not formally withdraw from a class that they do not attend, will result in a grade of F.
