Academic Alerts
Faculty may submit an electronic success alert at any point during the semester for any student who may need assistance in a variety of areas. Not all alerts require assistance, however, positive alerts are also issued to recognize students who have achieved something extraordinary during the semester. Students, advisors, and coaches all receive these notifications.
Alerts are issued for a number of reasons: (a) to notify students, their advisors, and their coaches of poor performance in a course, (b) to provide students with suggestions for how to improve performance, and (c) to refer students for supportive services, such as success advising, financial advice, or counseling, and (d) to recognize something positive that a student has achieved in class.
Additionally, Student Success Advisors utilize the information from these alerts to monitor the progress of at-risk students. Every alert issued is followed by an outreach by a Success Advisor to provide assistance and support to the student.
