Employee Handbook 2024-2025

Statements to the Media

Events involving or affecting the College may occur that will draw the immediate attention from the news media. The College is committed to responding to these situations in a way that will preserve its reputation and that will minimize disruption to the College, student learning and experience, and workplace. To best serve these objectives, the College will respond to the news media only through designated spokespersons. Only the President is authorized to speak on behalf of the College and has the authorization to designate any other spokespersons to make comments to the media on behalf of the College. If approached, no employees should answer any media or reporter questions. Employees in such circumstances should respond that they are not authorized to comment for the College and promptly notify the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing of the contact by the media.  Nothing in this policy, however, is intended or should be construed as limiting, coercing, or infringing on employees’ rights to exercise pursuant to Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act.

Only the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing, or their designee, has authority to solicit, contract, arrange, or otherwise secure for advertising for College sponsored events. No employee may solicit, contract, arrange for, or otherwise secure advertising, in any type of media of any College event or College sponsored event without prior express written approval from the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing.
