Statement on Reasonable Accomodations

In accordance with federal, state, and where applicable, local law, the College will attempt to provide individuals with known disabilities, and pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, with reasonable accommodation(s) necessary to perform the essential functions of the job, unless doing so would create an undue hardship on the College, or pose a direct safety threat. Qualified applicants or employees with a disability or who are pregnant or have pregnancy related medical conditions (including childbirth and needs related lactation) who require an accommodation in order to perform the essential functions of their job should contact their supervisor and/or Department and/or Division Head, and The Office of Human Resources, to request an accommodation. The College will engage in an interactive process with the applicant or employee to determine how the individual may be accommodated. The College may request the employee or applicant to provide reasonable documentation or information, including from their medical provider in order to evaluate the request for an accommodation and to determine how the employees or applicant may be accommodated. Any medical information received will be maintained as confidential in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

In the instance that an employee requires a service animal, the employee should contact the Office of Human Resources.

The College will endeavor to accommodate sincerely held religious beliefs of employees to the extent such accommodation does not impose an undue hardship on the College’s operations. An employee or applicant in need of an accommodation should notify their supervisor and/or Department and/or Division Head, and The Office of Human Resources. Upon doing so, the College may ask for the employee’s or applicant’s input on the type of accommodation that may be necessary.

The College will not tolerate discrimination or retaliation against an individual with a known disability, or for requesting or receiving a reasonable accommodation in accordance with this policy and as protected under applicable laws.  Any concerns regarding discrimination or retaliation in violation of this policy should be promptly reported to The Office of Human Resources.
