Overtime
Employees may be required to work overtime based on the business needs of the College. Employees who are requested to work overtime are expected to do so as necessary, and such overtime is considered an essential function of their position.
Non-exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay at a rate of one and one-half times their regular rate for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek. Exempt employees may be required to work hours beyond their normal schedule but are not eligible for overtime premium pay.
All accrued time (time not actually worked or spent performing work) such as paid time off, sick, jury duty, bereavement, or any other leave time, as well as observed holidays (when the employee does not actually perform any work/report to work), is not counted as hours worked for purposes of calculating overtime.
