Employee Handbook 2026-2027

Call-in Policy

Employees who are going to be late or absent from work due to an unscheduled absence must personally notify their supervisor. Employees who are unable to report to work or who will be late to work due to unforeseen circumstances are required to notify their immediate supervisor at least one hour before the scheduled start of their shift, unless doing so is impracticable. In such circumstances, the employee should notify their immediate supervisor as soon as reasonably possible. For any additional day(s) that an employee will be absent, employees must notify their immediate supervisor unless prior approval has been granted for multiple days off.

Employees who are absent for three consecutive days without contacting their supervisor will be considered to have voluntarily resigned from their position.

No-Call, No-Show

Employees who miss two or more hours of a shift and do not provide the required notice will be considered a “no-call, no-show” absence. Employees are required to provide the College with notice as soon as reasonably possible, explaining the reason for the absence. Employees who fail to provide a legitimate and substantiated reason for the no-call, no-show absence will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination of employment.

Employees who are absent for three or more consecutive workdays without providing the College with notice will be deemed to have voluntarily resigned their employment (job abandonment).

Time-Off

Employees taking time-off pursuant to the College’s time-off policy must comply with any applicable additional notice requirements set forth therein.
