Application Requirements
Candidates for admission must demonstrate the ability, motivation, and preparedness necessary to succeed in college-level study. Each application is reviewed holistically, with consideration given to the individual strengths, experiences, and academic background of the applicant in relation to the programs offered at Keuka College.
All documents submitted as part of the application process become the property of Keuka College and will not be returned to the applicant or released to third parties, except as required by law.
The College reserves the right to make exceptions to admissions policies in exceptional circumstances, in accordance with institutional procedures.
A criminal history, including a felony conviction, may affect eligibility for admission to certain academic programs, particularly those requiring licensure, certification, or placement in clinical or field-based settings.
In alignment with federal regulations and State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), Keuka College provides required disclosures regarding programs leading to professional licensure or certification. Requirements for licensure vary by state, and students are responsible for reviewing the applicable requirements in the state where they intend to seek licensure. The Admissions Office adheres to the highest standards of professional conduct. In accordance with federal regulations (34 C.F.R. § 668), the College prohibits the use of fraudulent, misleading, or high-pressure recruiting practices for all prospective students, including members of the military. Admissions representatives do not engage in aggressive recruitment tactics and are not compensated based on the number of students enrolled or the securing of military or other student enrollments.
Keuka College does not discriminate in its admission practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, creed, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression), age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Admissions requirements are outlined below and are subject to change. The most current requirements are available on the College’s website at www.keuka.edu/apply. Submission of an application does not guarantee admission to the College or to a specific academic program.
Applicants who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens are encouraged to apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible. Information about FAFSA availability and deadlines is available through the Office of Financial Aid and the U.S. Department of Education.
To reserve a place in the incoming class, admitted students must submit an enrollment deposit of $200 by an approved payment method. Enrollment deposits for the fall term are refundable through May 1. Deposits are generally not waived; however, the enrollment deposit requirement will be waived for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are eligible for and receiving educational benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
All applicants to Keuka College must submit the following materials for admission consideration:
- An online Application for Admission, either through Keuka College’s application or an authorized third-party source (e.g., Common App).
- A copy of their secondary school transcript or general equivalency diploma (GED). Unofficial copies are accepted for admission evaluation, but students must submit an official and final copy prior to starting classes. Transfers may be requested to submit secondary transcripts.
- Transfer and graduate applicants must provide official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities to be evaluated for admission. An electronic transcript is considered official when it is received directly from a verified and secure source and is transmitted through a secure delivery method that has not been previously accessed or opened. Transcripts cannot be submitted by the students.
In addition to the required materials, the Admissions Committee will also consider the following optional components and may be required for certain graduate programs:
- Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Statements or Essays
- Standardized Test Scores
If a first-time applicant’s secondary school transcript provides both a weighted and unweighted GPA, Keuka College will use whichever GPA is the highest to assess the applicant.
Some programs at Keuka College have additional requirements outlined in the Academic Program Specific Application Requirements section. These programs include Health Sciences, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy.
