Vehicle and Safe Driving Policy
Employees who must drive as part of their job duties are expected and required to obey all applicable vehicle and traffic laws while engaged in driving on College business. This includes not engaging in unlawful behavior such as using a cell phone or other personal electronic device while driving (e.g., texting, using social media, calls without hands-free system, engaging in any other use of the device). Employees are required to have a valid driver’s license. For employees who must drive as an essential function of their duties, any issues or changes in the employee’s ability to legally drive a vehicle must be promptly reported to The Office of Human Resources. Any tickets, violations, or charges are the sole responsibility of the employee. Employees who use College owned vehicles are subject to a DMV check for outstanding violations. These violations may impact vehicle usage.
