Article VI: Procedures
Section 1. Voting
a. A quorum for a Faculty meeting shall be 50 percent of the current membership.
b. All proposals and motions, other than amendments to this Constitution and its Bylaws, require a majority vote as defined in Robert’s Rules of Order Revised.
c. Upon request of any two members, a written ballot shall be used in any vote.
d. Acceptable forms of voting include face-to-face, written ballot, and/or electronic ballots.
Section 2. Motions
a. Motions or proposals concerning new business shall normally be placed on the agenda at the previous meeting or distributed in writing to the membership.
b. A motion or proposal concerning new business may be placed on the agenda by an appropriate Faculty committee member or the Provost, provided a copy of the motion or proposal has been distributed to each member at least five calendar days prior to the scheduled meeting at which it is to be considered.
c. A motion or proposal concerning new business may be placed on the agenda by the consent of two-thirds of the membership present.
d. Should the Faculty be unable to vote on motions concerning curricular changes due to lack of a quorum for two consecutive Faculty meetings, the Curriculum Committee can elect to forward all pending curricular motions to the Provost and President for further action.
