Sustainability

As the world population continues to grow, and as demands for industrial and technological development increase, the importance of meeting these needs in a sustainable way has never been greater. It is imperative that in meeting the needs of the present, we must do so in a way that does not compromise the ability of future generations to do the same. Sustainability is a field of study in which this issue is explored through several lenses: environmental science, social science and business/economics.  For the human race to thrive, both now and in the future, all three of these areas must intersect in a synergistic way.  Sustainability majors at Keuka College will engage in meaningful and substantial coursework from all three of these areas and learn how they intersect. In doing so, they will acquire the background and foundation necessary to enter a wide variety of fields and professions that work toward the goal of ensuring a more prosperous, environmentally friendly, and just society for their local community, country and world, both present and future.
