College Record 2024-2025

Nursing, Bachelor of Science

CIP: 51.3801
HEGIS: 1203.00

The Keuka College Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing program is guided by the philosophy that professional nursing is based in science and grounded by the humanities. Didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences are designed to prepare the professional nurse for practice that is evidence based, interdisciplinary, and requires sound clinical reasoning skills.

A Keuka College graduate nurse is taught to embrace a holistic, patient centered approach to transforming care across the lifespan. Students are provided the opportunity to cultivate a broader view through faculty mentoring, that the reach of nursing extends from the individual to local and global populations and to practice with compassion, integrity and curiosity. Reflection and experiential learning allows students to develop and enhance their communication and nursing leadership skills.

The nursing curriculum is accredited based upon the standards set forth by New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The core knowledge and the accompanying skill sets required are incorporated into the didactic and clinical coursework.

Upon completion of the program requirements, the Keuka College graduate nurse will be eligible to sit for the National Council State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination NCLEX-RN.
