OCC-530 Practice Skills II

This course focuses on the development of advanced clinical skills and clinical reasoning by focusing on some of the most challenging areas of occupational therapy practice: treatment of clients with spinal cord injuries and complex medical diagnoses such as burns, cancer and kidney disease. Through this treatment lens, students will explore such topics as client sexuality, end of life issues, and the use of assistive technology to enhance treatment and promote client outcomes. Students will integrate occupational therapy theories and frames of reference such as the Model of Human Occupation as they apply to an understanding of the clinical skills taught in this course. This course will be presented in a seminar format.
