Advanced Certificate
Consistent with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, an advanced certificate (post-master's certificate) is a credential awarded upon completion of a registered curriculum that does not lead to an academic degree. Advanced certificate programs consist of graduate-level coursework organized around a distinct area of professional knowledge or practice. These programs provide specialized study that may support professional advancement, career transition, certification requirements, or continued professional development.
At Keuka College, advanced certificates are offered as stand-alone programs of study designed for individuals who have already earned a master's degree or other qualifying graduate credential, as required by the specific program. Students seeking admission to an advanced certificate program must apply and satisfy all applicable admission requirements.
Advanced certificate programs require successful completion of the curriculum prescribed for the certificate. Unless otherwise specified by the academic division or required for professional licensure, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 to remain in good academic standing and to complete the program. Graduate transfer credit policies apply to students enrolled in advanced certificate programs.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, the advanced certificate is awarded and recorded by the Office of Records and Registration. Depending on the academic program and applicable College policies, coursework completed within an advanced certificate program may be eligible for application toward a related graduate degree program.
