Faculty Handbook 2025-2026

Article IV - Student Evaluation of Instruction Administration Policy

  1. The student evaluation of instruction (SEI) process serves the purpose of soliciting anonymous student feedback on the effectiveness of instruction. Information on the SEI may be useful for improvement of the course and the student learning experience. In addition, SEIs provide feedback to the instructor on teaching effectiveness and course design, as well as information that is useful to inform the reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes.
  2. SEI questions and procedures are maintained, developed, and monitored by the Instruction Committee (IC). Changes to SEI question or procedures should be developed by the IC in consultation with the Professional Standards Committee. All updates to SEI questions and procedures require an approval vote of a simple majority of the College faculty.
  3. See Appendix K for more information on the student evaluation of instruction process.
