Additional Requirements for International Students

Keuka College warmly invites applications from non-U.S. citizens for our on-campus undergraduate and graduate programs. Along with the previously described Universal Application Requirements, international applicants must also submit the following documents:

  • A copy of all secondary school and college/university transcripts through World Education Services (WES) or any other vendor verified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). There are two notable exceptions for graduate-level applicants:
    • For graduate nursing applicants, TruMerit is the only approved credential evaluation provider.
    • Transcripts for graduate social work applicants must be evaluated by the Department of Social Work Accreditation, which is part of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the College’s Social Work accreditation agency.
  • copy of official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), unless the applicant’s education was in English and in one of the following countries: Antigua, Australia, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, Canada, Cayman Island, Dominica, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamacia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Montserrat, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Africa, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Swaziland, Tanzania, The Bahamas, The British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.

Upon acceptance, international students are required to provide the College with the following items before a Form I-20 can be issued:

  • Declaration of Finances
  • Copy of Current Passport

English Proficiency Test Score Requirements

Undergraduate Applicants

  • IELTS – 5.0
  • TOEFL – 59

Graduate Applicants

  • IELTS – 5.5
  • TOEFL – 69

Additional Requirements for Students from Puerto Rico

While students from Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens and not classified as international applicants, public schools in Puerto Rico use Spanish as the primary language of instruction. Therefore, applicants from Puerto Rico are required to submit a TOEFL, IELTS score and meet the criteria outlined in the English Proficiency Test Score Requirements section.
