Divisional Placement Assessment
To ensure that students are enrolled in a class that most clearly fits their skills, experience and needs, the College administers the following placement tests to traditional incoming undergraduate students:
- A self-guided English and Writing assessment (first-year students)
- A Math placement (Natural Science and Mathematics, Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Adolescent Math Education majors)
- American Sign Language (ASL/AEI and Education with ASL majors only)
Keuka College does not allow students to test out of specific degree requirements using placement tests; rather placement assessments are used for appropriate course scheduling and as a result must be completed one month prior to the start of class. Readmitted students who are missing placement results should contact the Office of Records and Registration for guidance. There is no fee for these assessments, and no academic credit is awarded. Information on placement exams can be found within the New Student Portal.
