Readmission of Former Students
Former Keuka College students who have voluntarily and officially withdrawn from the College are eligible to apply for readmission. All applications will be reviewed by the Keuka College Office of Admissions as well as the Office of Records and Registration, the Academic Division, and/or the Office of Community Standards and Student Intervention. Students that are returning from Temporary or Medical Leave do not need to reapply. They must contact the Office of Records and Registration to discuss registration and re-enrollment.
Former students who have been dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons, or who have been involuntarily withdrawn, must reapply. Please see the section on Academic Reinstatement to the College for application guidelines.
Readmitted students are bound by the requirements of the most current academic catalog. Keuka College is not obligated to teach courses or programs that have been discontinued. Students wishing to change their major upon their return will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and should consult with the Office of Records and Registration. Each academic program reserves the right to issue an academic contract to a returning student as a term of their readmission. Additionally, each academic program reserves the right to deny re-entry into their program if the student does not meet program requirements.
All students who wish to return to Keuka College must fill out the proper paperwork and have all account holds lifted in order to be considered for readmission. Students who have active account holds may contact the Office of Admissions for further information, at admissions@keuka.edu.
Graduate Readmission Policy
Former Keuka College graduate students who have voluntarily and officially withdrawn from the College are eligible to apply for readmission. Students that are returning from a Temporary or Medical Leave do not need to reapply but must follow applicable policies for return. They must contact the Office of Records and Registration to discuss registration and re-enrollment in the proper sequence of prior coursework. Students will be subject to the policies and requirements in effect at the time of readmission; courses older than four years will not apply to degree requirements unless approved by the academic program’s division. There are also more restrictive requirements for readmission related to clinical courses and practica; see section below.
Former Keuka College graduate students who have been dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons, or who have been involuntarily withdrawn, must reapply following the guidelines below under “Graduate Student Academic and Disciplinary Reinstatement to the College.” Students who have an expulsion on their record from Keuka College will not be readmitted.
Clinical and Practica Requirements for Readmission
Some of Keuka College’s graduate programs are licensure programs and include clinical components which must be up-to-date per accreditation and external examination requirements. If more than two years have elapsed since a student’s last enrollment at Keuka College, they may be required to repeat this coursework as specified by the Academic Division in consultation with the Provost’s Office.
Nursing Clinical Courses: Nursing Graduate Programs: Performance failure of a clinical course, including OSCE failure, resulting in program dismissal will automatically disqualify a student from readmission to the program. Academic failure only may be considered for re-admission at the discretion of the Nursing Program Director in consultation with Nursing Program Faculty.
