Employee Handbook 2024-2025

Solicitation and Distribution Rules

In the interest of maintaining a professional working environment and to minimize distraction and inconvenience to others, employees may not distribute literature or printed materials of any kind or solicit for any cause during working time. Employees who are not on working time (e.g., those on lunch hour or breaks) may not solicit employees who are on working time for any cause or distribute literature of any kind to them. This policy extends to solicitations using the College’s e-mail and telephone systems or to solicitations using personal cellular phones, smartphones or other devices to the extent that this is done during working time.  Furthermore, employees may not distribute literature or printed material of any kind in working areas at any time. Trespassing, soliciting or distributing literature by non-employees on our premises is prohibited at all times.  While not on working time, employees may distribute literature or printed materials in the common areas and on the bulletin boards.

Nothing in this policy is intended or should be construed to infringe on employees’ rights to engage in protected activity or to exercise their rights under Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act.
