SOC-302 Cultural Diversity and Advocacy

Throughout the course we will question what diversity means in the contemporary United States as well as in the global context. We will apply our sociological lens and interpret the meaning and experience of diversity, paying particular attention to dimensions of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, disability, religion and age. Students will gain cross-cultural awareness and local and global advocacy skills by the end of the course.
