This course focuses on the role of the nurse educator in creating effective learning environments that promote student learning and professional formation. Students construct learning objectives that align with and support course and program outcomes. Learners examine the multicultural, gendered, generational, educational, and experiential influences on learning and design a teaching plan relevant to their students' needs and identified learning outcomes. Best practices in assessment and evaluation of student learning in classroom, clinical, and simulated settings are explored. Specialized accreditation guidelines are reviewed as they impact the structure, culture, and governance of the nursing program.
