MAT-095 Introductory Algebra
Required of all students achieving a score of 1 on the mathematics placement examination. An examination of the operations and properties of the real number system is followed by stress on algebraic expressions, simplification of expressions, solving equations, and verbal problems. This course is offered as pass/fail only with a grade of satisfactory (S) or unsatisfactory (U). A student placed in this course must achieve a grade of S prior to entry in any general education course in the area of mathematics. This course bears 3 billable credits to be applied to the student's semester course load. However, this is a developmental course and will not carry credit toward graduation or on student transcript.
