II. Faculty Development Grant
A. Purpose:
The Faculty Development Grant offers financial support to faculty members to enhance their roles as teachers, scholars, and members of the College community. This opportunity is meant for engagement in scholarly or creative activities that further the mission of the FDC and the values of Keuka College to enhance academic excellence, student-centeredness, diversity, teaching effectiveness, and stewardship. Possible proposals may include but are not limited to the following:
● research the design and preparation for a new course,
● the development of some skill or expertise,
● the development of a group Field Period,
● the development of a workshop for Faculty,
● faculty scholarship projects, or
● other
B. Description of Funding:
The FDC has allotted a maximum of $5,000 to support faculty development grants, pending annual institutional budget ($2,500 per term). Individuals can apply for up to $1,000. These awards will be applied for and given in two grant cycles. For award distribution and specific dates, please see table below. Applications posted after the deadline will not be reviewed. If granted, the recipient must schedule a time with FDC within 30 days of completion for dissemination. Failure to share outcomes will affect future applications.

C. Eligibility:
The Faculty Development Grant may be awarded to any faculty member who has completed (1) year of full-time equivalent teaching service at the rank of instructor or higher at Keuka College. Applicants may only apply for one (1) faculty development grant per year, no exceptions. Faculty cannot combine a Continuing Education Grant to augment a Faculty Development Grant.
D. Application Process:
The application process is competitive, and applications will be reviewed for merit. Applicants must use the Faculty Development Grant form posted on the FDC portal and include all necessary documents. The form must be completed in its entirety, leaving no blank sections, and include an itemized list of anticipated expenses. The FDC will have the final decision on grant application awards and reserves the right to deny any application that is not complete.
