Article I: Standing Committees

A. Titles of Standing Committees

(1) Curriculum Committee
(2) General Education Committee
(3) Faculty Development Committee
(4) Faculty Liaison Committee
(5) Instruction Committee
(6) Professional Standards Committee
(7) Graduate Program Committee

B. Membership of Standing Committees

(1) Membership on all committees is open to any member of the Academic Faculty, except for the Graduate Programs Committee and Professional Standards Committee (see stipulations below, under the committees’ descriptions and responsibilities). Faculty members of committees shall serve for three years (following initial staggered terms). No Faculty member shall serve two consecutive three-year terms on the same committee; nor shall a Faculty member serve concurrently on more than one standing committee. Election date shall not be later than the last regularly scheduled Faculty meeting of the academic year. Newly elected committee members shall begin their terms of office the day after graduation.

(2) The President of Keuka College shall be an ex officio member of all standing committees. The Provost or designate shall be an ex officio member of all standing committees.

(3) When a vacancy occurs on a standing committee, a replacement to fill the unexpired term shall be nominated from the floor and voted on at the next regularly scheduled Faculty meeting.

(4) Nominations to fill positions on standing committees shall be made from the floor each year at the next-to-last regularly scheduled Faculty meeting. Elections shall take place at the following regularly scheduled Faculty meeting. Write-in votes shall be permitted.

(5) All elections shall be by simple majority.
