The Biology – Organismal Studies major is a great place for new students to start exploring the many fields in Biology. This major is designed to offer the greatest flexibility in choosing upper-level biology electives and, at the same time, ensure that students are well-prepared for any field of biology after graduation. The curriculum for the Biology – Organismal Studies major is designed to provide a well-rounded education while preparing students for state/federal/not-for- profit positions or graduate school in almost any field of biology. However, this major is particularly well suited for students interested in zoology, botany, field biology, or ecology.
Major Requirements
Complete all of the following:
Complete 8-9 credits from BIO, ENV, or CHM at the 300-level or higher
Complete one of the following from the Field Study Skills Group:
Complete one from the Organismal Form and Function Group
Complete one from the Cellular Form and Function Group:
Field Period:
Summer Field Period recommended after the junior year.
