Medical Technology
The bachelor of science in medical technology prepares students for eligibility to take the certification examination of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. This exam also serves as the New York State licensure exam. The program includes three years of study at Keuka College followed by 12 months of study in a Clinical Laboratory Technology Program approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Satisfactory completion of the work in any program approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists fulfills the clinical requirements. Most Keuka College students matriculate into the Clinical Laboratory Technology Program at Rochester General Hospital or UPMC Chautauqua WCA, with whom we have 3 + 1 affiliation agreements. Students are admitted to these programs on a competitive basis. While Rochester General Hospital and UPMC Chautauqua WCA have no formal minimum GPA requirement for admission, most successful students have a science grade point average above 3.0.
