Graduates can sit for the national certification examination for occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an occupational therapist, registered (OTR). Most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are based on the results of the NBCOT certification examination.

Keuka College's Education Division is currently seeking accreditation of its educator preparation programs by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). Until this national accreditation is granted, pursuant to §52.21 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, the educator preparation programs offered by Keuka College are considered to be continuously accredited and meeting the New York State requirements.
