NUR-368 Nutrition and Metabolism
This theory course builds upon knowledge gained from previous science courses to deepen the student's understanding of energy metabolism and physiologic and pathophysiologic processes that interfere with these metabolic processes. Dietary needs for persons experiencing various physiologic and pathophysiologic stressors are explored. Nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics are discussed and reflect diversity of susceptibility to disease and the role of nutrition in the prevention and management of disease.
