KC-102 Experiential Learning and Academic Culture @Keuka * †
As a foundation of the General Education program, this course introduces students with 45 to 59 credits and college experience to Keuka College's signature emphasis on experiential education, integrated learning, and rigorous academic study. The course serves as a lens through which students explore how breadth of knowledge, ways of knowing, and the inter-connectedness of ideas contribute to a deeper understanding of self, of education, and of experience. Students and faculty build a dynamic intellectual community by engaging in a shared process of inquiry around common topics with individual sections approaching the topic from the instructor's area of expertise. All seminars emphasize the critical analysis, writing, and information fluency skills that are essential to a contemporary liberal education. This course includes specific preparation for students' initial Field Period® experience.
