Academic Advising
All incoming students are assigned a faculty academic advisor in their designated major and a student success advisor. Advisors serve as mentors to help students make an effective transition to college.
Advisors help students become independent, responsible learners who understand self; are familiar with institutional policies and cultural norms; possess problem solving skills; and know how to access a variety of academic, career planning, and support services. They also help students develop an educational plan consistent with their aptitudes, interests, and life goals.
Academic advisors assist students with creating or modifying their course schedule, planning a Field Period®, exploring career paths, and providing specific information about the requirements needed to graduate on time.
Freshman advising cohorts are kept small to ensure that freshmen receive strong support and guidance during a significant transitional period.
Students will have an designated faculty advisor throughout their time at Keuka College, determined by their program of study. Should a student wish to change advisors, they may fill out an Academic Program Change form.
