DL-420 Machine Learning

The purpose of this course is to provide a broad introduction to machine learning, data mining, and statistical pattern recognition.  Included topics are a) simple, multiple, and polynomial regression, b) naive Bayes, c) classification algorithms (e.g., decision trees, support vector machines), d) principle component analysis, and e) a brief introduction to neural networks (unsupervised learning).  Students will use the R programming language to build applications.
