BUS-490 Business Simulation
Executives and Managers realize that the most important part of a business strategy is executing it. Unfortunately, most organizations are better at developing a strategic plan than implementing one. This course will build upon your previous course work by actually applying a business strategy in an organization using a business simulation. Business simulations are one of the many different methods for learning business skills. Reading textbooks teaches the foundations of business theory, and real-world experience often shows the difficulty of putting those theories into practice. A web based management simulation game is used in this course. In the simulation, you and your group will be competing directly against other teams in your class. The simulation provides a very dynamic learning experience. Customers and competitors will change, new products will be introduced, and the economy will have its ups and downs. Competing in this environment will require complex analysis and decision-making. The simulation challenges you to make tough decisions in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, Negotiations, and Profit Analysis. The simulation is designed to be a fun, but challenging experience.
