Appearance
Keuka College expects all employees to maintain a professional appearance that reflects the College’s values and promotes a safe, respectful, and productive work environment. Employees should wear clothing that is clean, in good condition, and appropriately fitted. Attire that is excessively tight, sheer, low-cut, ripped, wrinkled, dirty, or overly revealing is not appropriate in the workplace. Dress should be suitable for the employee’s role, department, and any College-related events or responsibilities. The College respects and accommodates clothing and grooming practices related to religious beliefs, cultural identity, or disabilities; employees seeking such accommodation should contact the Office of Human Resources. If an employee’s appearance is deemed inappropriate, they may be asked to leave work and return in proper attire, and time away may be unpaid as permitted by law. For any questions or concerns regarding appropriate dress, employees are encouraged to speak with their supervisor, department head, or the Office of Human Resources.
