Scholarship of discovery
• Publish or present original research in a public and/or peer-reviewed forum or conference.
• Guide and actively participate in presentation of student-initiated capstone, honors, or independent study research.
• Pursuit of a relevant terminal or graduate degree with submission and/or presentation of scholarly work.
• Engage in community-based applied Business and Management research.
Scholarship of engagement or application
• Assume a significant professional role (i.e., BOD, executive level Cabinet, etc.) within a for- profit or not-for-profit organization.
• Act as a reviewer for a peer-reviewed academic journal.
• Manage or author a relevant professional blog, website, or other gray literature.
• Write for a recognized trade or industry group publication.
• Author and publish a business-related “op-ed” piece in a noteworthy periodical or newspaper.
• Awardee of grant donor funding for support of original research.
• Publication of a textbook, book chapter, or magazine article in one’s field of expertise.
Scholarship of synthesis or integration
• Develop, assess and/or present scholarship at recognized interdisciplinary academic activities.
• Deliver a continuing education presentation/lecture to the public at large or industry specialists.
• Publish a chapter, journal article, case study, literature review, etc., in a peer-reviewed trans or interdisciplinary journal or textbook.
• Present at an interdisciplinary professional development workshop or conference.
Scholarship of teaching and learning
• Enhance classroom experience and advance Business and Management theory through participatory classroom research.
• Submit test questions or develop products or educational materials to be used by other business educators in texts or online.
• Design, assess, and present the findings from a novel in-class teaching methodology.
• Evaluate and present learning gathered from student-generated data such as Field Period surveys, alumni interviews, etc.
• Development of original and novel business curricula and coursework.
• Public recognition as an outstanding business educator.
