Jurisdiction
Keuka College shall have jurisdiction over conduct that occurs on the premises of Keuka College as well as activities that occur off campus if such activities adversely affect the interests or educational mission of Keuka College when determined by the Dean of Students or designee.
The Keuka College Code of Conduct applies to any persons enrolled in any course offered by the College, and any student organization recognized by the College.
Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards
The Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards or acting Chief Discipline Officer for Keuka College has operational responsibility for the coordination and implementation of all aspects of student conduct policies and procedures. The Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards had jurisdiction over all cases prior to a student's request of a formal disciplinary hearing.
Initial Disciplinary Meeting Officer
As necessary, the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards or acting Chief Discipline Officer for Keuka College may designate a trained staff member to conduct an Initial Disciplinary Meeting, in such cases, this designated staff member will have the same jurisdiction and sanctioning authority as the official who designated them.
Campus Hearing Committee
The Campus Hearing Committee consists of all of the trained student, faculty, and staff members that participate in Administrative hearings and Committee Panel hearings. This Committee has jurisdiction over all formal, non-academic, disciplinary, student hearings.
Conduct Appeals Panel
The Conduct Appeals Panel hears all appeals, for specified grounds only, of disciplinary decisions rendered by the Initial Disciplinary Meeting Officer/Administrative Hearing Officer, or the Conduct Hearing Panel for all cases except those involving academic dishonesty.
Suspension & Expulsion
The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards also considers all matters that may involve the suspension or expulsion of a student. Behavior that would warrant such separation includes that which is of a recidivist nature or that which poses a significant threat to the well being of the College students, or personnel
