NUR-414 Adult/Elder Health Nursing

This course is built on knowledge and experiences
acquired in NUR 314. The focus is on acute and
restorative nursing interventions for adults and
elders. Students use the nursing process to
explore client health care needs and coping
strategies. Appropriate resources are identified
to assist in meeting these needs with
consideration to health care policy, economic
status, and other networks specific to these
populations. Critical thinking skills are
emphasized as students, partnering with the
family and the interdisciplinary team, plan,
implement, and evaluate nursing interventions
that are appropriate and culturally sensitive.
Relevant research findings are considered as
appropriate. Partnerships include
service-learning opportunities. Clinical learning
experiences occur in community-based hospitals
and other care settings. (Offered every spring
semester.)
