Alcohol Quantities

Quantity of alcohol at any organized event is subject to approval of the director of student activities. The following chart is used as a reference to assist in planning an event where alcohol is served. This chart is based on 50 people. The following figures can be multiplied or divided depending on the numbers expected to attend.

At all events where alcoholic beverages are served, alternative non-alcoholic beverages and food must be provided in sufficient quantity and must be served and featured as prominently as the alcoholic beverages. “Sufficient quantity” is subject to review by the Dean of Students or their designee.

Keuka College reserves the ability to limit the amount of alcohol an individual or group may possess as follows:

  • The allowable amount of alcohol allowed in any college-owned or operated residence hall room or apartment by a single student who is of legal drinking age is limited to:
    • Twenty-four (24) 12-ounce containers of beer/malted beverage, hard cider or hard seltzer;
    • Two (2) one-liter bottles of wine;
    • One (1) liter of distilled spirits; OR
    • A reasonable combination of these types (as determined by College professional staff).
