Theft and Damage Policy

The College is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Students are encouraged to insure their own belongings and to report any thefts to campus safety or the Yates County Sheriff’s Office as soon as the loss is discovered. The College expects students who are responsible for damaging College property (either accidentally or with intent) to report that damage to the Office of Student Life. Students who voluntarily report accidental damage for which they are responsible are not penalized in any way, though they are expected to pay for the costs of repair. Students who fail to report damage and who are later shown to be responsible for that damage are referred for disciplinary action.
