Point Neamo

Hours of Operation

Point Neamo will be open (weather permitting) for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing under the following schedule:

Fall and Spring Hours of Operation

Monday-Friday: 3-6 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays: noon-5 p.m.

Access to the water is prohibited when lifeguards are not on duty. For safety reasons, access to the lake ice from College property is strictly prohibited.

Operating Rules and Policies

  1. Point Neamo is the private property of Keuka College. Keuka College reserves the right to restrict access for anyone at any given time. The following rules and policies will be used in the normal day-today operation of Point Neamo. All rules and policies are strictly enforced.
  2. Swimming at Point Neamo will be authorized only when a lifeguard is present and only in the designated area (no lifeguard, no swimming).
  3. There will be no disorderly behavior or acts while swimming or using the Point (lifeguards and campus safety officers will make the determination of inappropriate behavior).
  4. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to use the Point (parents/guardians should be in the water with the swimming child for safety purposes).
  5. Pets are allowed at the Point, but must be under the control of the owners at all times. Owners must clean up after their pets.
  6. Fishing is allowed at the Point from dawn to 10 p.m. during the spring, summer, and fall. Ice fishing or access to ice fishing is prohibited. A fishing license issued by the State of New York is required unless exempt.
  7. Guests of the College attending conferences and meetings are also eligible for a temporary fishing permit. Please register in the campus safety office, located at 132 Central Ave.
  8. The possession, use, or consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is prohibited at the Point. All non-alcoholic containers must be in non-glass containers.
  9. Guests at the Point are responsible for removing their own trash and waste (receptacles provided).
  10. Use of the fire pit is prohibited unless scheduled with conference services or student affairs prior to use.
